Classic Car Mechanic

Duties

• Perform comprehensive diagnostics on pre 1975 vintage and classic vehicles to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
• Electrical system knowledge a big plus
• Conduct vehicle maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake repairs, suspension rebuilds, etc to ensure optimal performance.
• Understanding of vintage vehicle systems; carburetors, points ignition systems, etc.
• Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment (not required, but a plus).
• Interpret technical schematics and service manuals to accurately troubleshoot systems

Experience

• Proven mechanic experience with a focus on automotive repair, ideally within a shop specializing in classic or vintage vehicles.
• Strong mechanical knowledge of powertrain systems, vehicle maintenance procedures, and automotive electrical systems.
• Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics tools and schematics interpretation is essential for accurate troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with classic American muscle cars is preferred but not mandatory; a passion for classic cars is highly valued.
• Knowledge of welding techniques preferred but not mandatory.
• Excellent customer service skills to educate clients about vehicle care while maintaining professionalism in all interactions.
• ASE Certifications a plus.
• Pay depends on experience
