Phoenix Rod & Custom is a family-owned restoration and custom fabrication shop in Hackettstown, NJ specializing in classic cars, hot rods, muscle cars and custom builds. The shop opened in 1999 and serves northern New Jersey. It works on vintage cars, hot rods, muscle cars, kit cars, motorcycles and newer vehicles. Projects shown on its website range from pre-war Packards, a Duesenberg and early Fords to 1950s Chevrolets, Camaros, a Hemi 'Cuda and modern muscle cars, and customer cars restored by the shop have received AACA and concours recognition. The shop performs full, partial and frame-off restorations, ground-up custom builds, custom welding and metal fabrication, rust repair and body kits. Paint work includes custom finishes and powder coating. Interior work includes custom upholstery in leather and exotic materials. Mechanical work covers custom engine builds, engine swaps, transmission conversions, suspension and chassis, exhaust, brakes, steering, fuel and electrical systems, LED conversions and custom dashboards and gauges. The owner specializes in sheet metal, auto body repair and paint refinishing, and the team includes body technicians and staff handling paint, mechanical, electrical and restoration work. Technicians there take vehicles through every phase of a restoration or custom build.
