Auto Body and Restoration Technician

Position Overview: We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Auto Restoration Technician to become an integral part of our team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep love for classic vehicles and have extensive experience in auto body restoration techniques. Key Responsibilities: Carefully disassemble vehicles, photograph, document, label, and organize parts, ensuring a smooth reassembly process. Perform metal straightening, minor fabrication, welding, body filler application, and block sanding with precision and attention to detail. Execute final prep sanding for paint, including both wet and dry block sanding. Perform color sanding, buffing, and polishing to achieve a flawless finish. Work collaboratively with team members, sharing knowledge and assisting others as needed. Exhibit patience and problem-solving skills to handle challenging restoration tasks, such as working with reproduction or aftermarket parts, correcting previous poor repairs, and dealing with rust or missing parts. Employ creative thinking to overcome obstacles and achieve high-quality results. Preferred Skills: Familiarity with the PPG paint system. Paint spraying and significant mechanical experience (highly desirable but not required). Additional Requirements: Verifiable references. Ability to pass a background check. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving history. Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and perform job-related tasks.
