About Porsche Cars North America
Porsche Cars North America is the U.S. importer of Porsche's road cars and an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Porsche AG in Stuttgart. The company was founded in 1984 and has been based in Atlanta since 1998, on a campus at One Porsche Drive next to Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport that also holds the Porsche Experience Center Atlanta and its driver development track. From there it supplies parts, service, marketing and training to more than 200 independently owned Porsche Centers, and it runs a second Experience Center in Carson, California. Most of the hands-on technical work happens in two places. In Atlanta, Porsche Classic Factory Restoration repairs and restores classic Porsches, from early 356 models through the 997, to original factory specification. A recent posting here was a contract Porsche Classic restoration technician role in Atlanta, filled through a staffing agency. In Carson, Porsche Motorsport North America sells, services and supplies parts for purpose-built Porsche race cars across the U.S. and Canada. Its workshop rebuilds racing engines and gearboxes and tests them on a dynamometer, and a vintage team restores historic race cars. A posted manager role there oversees the motorsport workshop and dyno operations, covering engine rebuild, gearbox rebuild and historic race work. The Atlanta restoration center moved into a dedicated 30,000-square-foot building in January 2023. Service bays went from three to fourteen, and paint, upholstery and body work are now done in-house.
