About Speed Sport Tuning
SST Auto is an independent European repair shop in Danbury, Connecticut. It began in 1995 as Speedsport Tuning, a Porsche specialist. When clients started asking it to look after their other cars, the business formed SST Auto and added technicians for Audi, BMW, Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz and MINI. Its service list now also covers Aston Martin, Bentley, Lamborghini, Land Rover, Maserati and Jaguar, along with hybrids and EVs. The shop works from a 32,000-square-foot building on Apple Ridge Road near the Danbury Mall and the airport, uses factory diagnostic equipment and OEM parts, and provides support at track events. The open technician role is focused on older Porsches. It covers diagnosis, maintenance and repair of cars from the 1960s through the 1990s, and applicants need prior Porsche experience. The vintage department rebuilds 911, pushrod and four-cam engines and handles transmissions, suspension, brakes and exhaust, on cars that have included a Carrera Speedster, a 718 RSK and a 356 Outlaw. SST says plainly that it is not a flat-rate shop, which matters for slow, careful work on old air-cooled cars.
