Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Classics Body Work/Fabrication Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven background in classic car restoration, with a strong focus on bodywork and fabrication. Experience working on Aston Martins is a significant bonus. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality restoration work, including metal fabrication, welding, panel alignment, and body modifications, all while maintaining the integrity and originality of the vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform precision bodywork and fabrication on classic cars, with a focus on maintaining the authenticity of the original design.
Carry out metalwork, including rust repair, panel replacement, and custom fabrication as needed.
Utilize various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, and gas) to fabricate and restore vehicle components.
Ensure accurate panel alignment and fitment to meet or exceed factory specifications.
Work closely with our restoration team to ensure all work is completed to the highest standard.
Conduct thorough inspections and quality checks to ensure the vehicle’s bodywork is completed to perfection.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all tools and equipment are used safely and properly.
Document all work performed, including photographs and detailed reports, to maintain a comprehensive restoration history for each vehicle.
Stay current with industry trends and techniques to continually improve and refine restoration processes.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in classic car restoration, with a focus on bodywork and fabrication.
Extensive knowledge of metalworking techniques, including cutting, shaping, and welding various types of metals.
Experience with Aston Martin restorations is highly preferred.
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and workshop machinery.
Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong work ethic.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
