Job Description
Unique opportunity for the right candidate to join a high-end classic car restoration shop working as-needed/part-time in our established upholstery shop. The Trim Specialist reports directly to the Operations Manager and is responsible for the restoration and/or fabrication of all vehicle interior components.
Responsibilities:
Disassembly and documentation of interior parts
Assess condition of all panels, carpeting, headliner, convertible top, door cards, seats, dashboard, etc.
Determine best corrective approach – repair, replace, or restore
Develop templates from existing pieces
Create new upholstery pieces (cutting, sewing, etc.)
Create new panel backing as needed (wood, fiberboard, etc.)
Installation of interior
Assist with final assembly and finish work as needed
Other miscellaneous duties as assigned
Required Skills:
The ideal candidate will have skills and experience in all aspects of upholstery/trim work, including.
Machine and hand stitching
Accurately shaping new fabric pieces
Cutting, shaping, gluing materials (foam, fabric, etc.)
Construction of backing materials
Use of basic hand tools
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years working in a similar role
Valid driver’s license
Employment is conditional on satisfactory background check
Compensation:
Hourly rate commensurate with experience
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Salary: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
