About Bonhams
Bonhams Cars is the collector-vehicle arm of the Bonhams auction house. It sells classic, modern and contemporary collector cars through live and online auctions, with consignment specialists who work with sellers and buyers. In the United States the business is run from Bonhams' New York headquarters, which moved in early 2026 from Madison Avenue into the restored Steinway Hall at 111 West 57th Street. The role open here is a Senior Specialist on the Collector Car Sales team. This is not a workshop job; it is for people who know the market. The posting asks for deep knowledge of classic, modern and contemporary collector cars and a track record in auction or collector car sales. In practice that means assessing and sourcing consignments, working with collectors and getting cars ready for sale. It suits someone who has moved from the technical or dealer side of the hobby into valuation and sales, and who can judge a car's originality, condition and history, since those decide what a car brings at auction. The Steinway Hall building is about 42,000 square feet, with four gallery levels and two auction rooms, and brings Bonhams' U.S. staff and central warehousing under one roof.
