About Cooper Classics Collection
Cooper Classics Collection is a vintage and exotic car dealership on Perry Street in Manhattan's Greenwich Village. Founded by Elliot Cuker in 1976, it calls itself the oldest classic car company on the East Coast. It sells classic, antique and exotic cars to buyers around the world, takes cars on consignment, and rents out its space for events and its cars for photo and film shoots. The company spent more than 25 years restoring cars before moving to sales only, and it now presents its inventory alongside contemporary art in its gallery. The open role combines classic car mechanic and sales associate duties. With restoration no longer done in-house, the mechanical side centers on keeping older cars running, sorted and presentable for buyers, while the sales side means talking knowledgeably with collectors and walking them through a car's history and condition. It suits someone who is as comfortable with customers and gallery visitors as with older carbureted engines. The company says roughly 70 percent of its business happens over the phone, so being able to describe a car accurately to a distant buyer is a real part of the job.
