About Basil Classic Cars
Basil Classics is the collector car side of the Basil family's automotive business in Depew, New York, on Transit Road about ten minutes from the Buffalo airport. The dealership buys, sells and consigns classic and vintage vehicles of all makes and arranges financing for buyers. Recent inventory has included a 1967 Plymouth Barracuda Formula S, a 1968 Chevrolet C10 and a 1955 Mercury Montclair. The family has been in the car business since 1952 and is now in its third generation, and Jim Basil has traded classic cars since the mid-1970s. The service department works on cars headed for the showroom and on cars that owners bring in. Its menu goes well past oil changes, covering engine swaps, frame straightening, sheet metal and body panel repair, electrical harness replacement, air conditioning retrofits, fuel injection, suspension and brake upgrades, exhaust work, rustproofing and detailing. Recent openings have been for a Classic Car Automotive Technician and a Classic Car Sales Rep, so a technician here splits time between getting inventory ready for sale and handling repairs and upgrades for customers on older vehicles of many makes. The dealership also offers dry-ice cleaning, a less common way to clean undercarriages and engine bays on collector cars without abrasives.
